Breakfast at Ninna Nanna is one of the small rituals that guests remember. The excellent and rich continental breakfast is served on the great solarium terrace in summer — with the garden waking up below — and in the cosy wooden house during winter, warm and bright even on foggy Po Valley mornings.
The Buffet
From 7.30 you will find a rich buffet with the following:
- American coffee, espresso, cappuccino, caffè latte and milk
- Tea, tisanes and infusions
- Fruit juices
- Assorted jams, butter and honey
- Yoghurt and cornflakes
- Fresh croissants and biscuits
- Seasonal fruit
- Hams and cheeses
- Eggs, frankfurters and gherkins for those who like a savoury start
It is a proper continental spread — sweet for the Italian tradition, savoury for travellers who need real fuel before a day of sightseeing or cycling.
Local Flavours
Whenever possible, we like to slip something Mantuan onto the table: a slice of torta sbrisolona, the crumbly almond cake that is the city's signature dessert, or seasonal fruit from the surrounding countryside. The province's food tradition is one of the richest in Lombardy — worth exploring at lunch and dinner too, in the trattorias of Mantua and the villages around us; the official Lombardy tourism portal dedicates an entire section to the region's food and wine.
Special Requests
We remain at your disposal to satisfy particular requests that are not listed above — gluten-free options, an earlier start for business travellers, a packed breakfast for cyclists leaving at dawn. Just tell us the evening before, and we will do our best.
Prefer to Cook for Yourself?
Guests also have free use of an equipped kitchen to prepare meals in complete autonomy — handy for families and for longer stays. Either way, the terrace and the garden are yours for as long as the coffee lasts. For rates and booking, see contacts and prices; breakfast is included in our standard per-person rate.
